I have a 1994 Ford 1620 with the 7108 loader. I was plowing snow with a snowpusher mounted on the loader when the lift function quit working. It will lift about 4-6" off the ground and then stop like something is blocked in the hydraulic system. If I unhook the hose from the relief side of the lift cylinder and just let the fluid shoot out it will lift. What could be happening?

Do the couplers go bad and not let the fluid flow?

Make sure the couplers are fully seated but yes, they can go bad. Not super common but happens.

I just flipped the hoses aroune on the lift couplers and it will now lift but won't go down. So I'm pretty sure it's the coupler. I just read another post about the poppet spring on one side wearing out/becoming weaker and only allowing the fluid to flow one way.

I ordered a new set of couples, cheap enough, so we'll see!
