Ford 641 Clutch and Flywheel Replacement

Carried this from the Ford 600 clutch replacement thread.
Split and removed the clutch and flywheel today. Ended up being a 10" clutch plate. The pressure plate is fine and the flywheel is fine as well. Why are there degree marks on the flywheel? Is the throwout bearing and the release bearing the same thing?
