Ford 5610

I have a 1988 5610 8x2 with a gear splitter. I drove it the other day and hit the switch and the splittler failed to work. Any Ideas on what the problem could be?

Blown fuse.
Failed wiring.
Failed switch.
Failed solenoid.

Just a thought......Youre splitter is on the floor...?These switches were troublesome with dirt and damp conditions,Try by-passing with a short lenght of wire..?
I know a lot of tractors that extended the wires and fitted a "Truck type" splitter on the gear stick..?
