Ford 555B Boom and Stick hydraulics won't work simultaneously. Is this normal?

I have all of the electronic manuals for your 555. Espe ially the Work Shop Manual. If you need them PM me.

I suggest you test the strength of your 555 in an attempt to learn how good your hydraulic pump is.

Are you pretty positive that this is totally normal? I assumed it was not normal at all, but I don't know much about this thing so I'm in no position to argue about much of anything. I thought you "should" be able to operate all the hydraulics on the backhoe at the same time at full speed. I don't think that I could run it at full speed right now and do anything right that fast, (but I'm positive I could mess something up trying it) but in my own head I thought that it should be possible to do.. so as I got better at the controls I could pick up speed with experience.

Well that's how I thought it worked. If I pull all my controls back at once to store the bucket, I think only one moves at a time, but maybe mine doesn't work right either.

I just got the 555B complete service repair manual today.. is the work shop manual different or is that the same thing? It's around 700 pages.

You have to be able to operate the crowd and boom simultaneously. Otherwise you could not control the depth of a dig in a trench. I use this function most often to rake out roots that are just below the surface without digging any deeper than necessary.

Reread my post #18. You should be able to do those things or very similar.

Hi, I'm new to the site and I know this is an older post. I just purchased a Ford 555C in great condition. I am having the exact same issues as you. I can combine and movements on the hoe even at idle with full stick movements and everything works except when I am moving the dipper in and then try to move the boom in the boom does not move. I can move the boom in by itself and it works great but as soon as I start to move the dipper in the boom stops. I can feather both dipper and boom very lightly at the same time and both will move together. I spoke to someone that operated a 555 for years and he said this wasn't right. He could move both controls at full movement and they both worked together. He also mentioned, and it makes sense, it would take forever to dig something. Did you ever figure out anything with yours? Thanks
