This is my first post on this site, I hope I've come to the right place.
I have a ford 5500 backhoe with a three speed hi/low power reversing transmission. This machine was built in 1968. Unfortunately after 45 years of service the transmission is in need of repair. The torque converter and the forward part of the transmission was built in England by a company called brockhouse. They are still around but I have not heard back from them yet for parts. Does anybody know of anyone that would have a 5500 for salvage or if it would be possible to swap the tranny and rear end for a different model tranny and rear end ? I would really like to hear some opinions. Thanks
