That very same thing happened to my 5000. When I got it the fluid was chocolate milk. Drained, flushed, refill with fresh fluid. Three time. Running brush hog after 3rd time and everything quit. Suction screen on pump was plugged solid with paint chips, sawdust, and what looked like the remains of one of those desiccant packs. I mean plugged solid. Apparently the previous owner wasn’t picky about the cleanliness of the bucket they were using. I had to split the tractor to get all the dirt out.Loader and linkage work fine when cold however after using PTO for 20 mins hydraulics stop working, any help would be much appreciated
When it happened to mine had to clean out the relief valve, partially stuck open and when it got hot and the fluid thinned out it was open just enough that it had almost no pressure. I think this is probably a 5000 thing and I’ve often wondered how many pumps just got replaced vs checking. Not saying the pumps not bad but worth $500 to me it’s easy to check. Fixed mine.Hyd. pumps usually work or they don't. Dirty filter is a common problem. If the Hyd. fluid is so low that it won't function usually means it has a leak involved to cause it. Most all the pumps have a pin on the Hyd. pumps Dr. shaft that will shear and totally quit. Helps prevent damage to the pump itself. Been through the extra Super Nasty Fluid and Filter Screen. I had to replace the screen it was so bad. Whale oil and pretty much what it looked and smelled like! Org. rice patty Yanmar!! Which has a relief valve on it also.
