ford 4500 remote

can anyone help me figure out how to add a remote hydraulic line to my 1971 ford 4500 diesel TLB.
I'd like to install a hydraulic winch to the front.

Check to see if you have the same 4 bolt rectangular hydraulic cover plate under your seat slightly to the front/right, as the Ford 3000 and 4000? If you do, you should be able to use our 2 line after market kit for $379 + shipping. Ken Sweet

4500TLB may not have a rear axle mounted hyd pump. You may have to install a diverter valve in the hydraulic supply line feeding the loader or backhoe valve.

How bout if I just tapped into the backhoe's power steering pump lines for the mile marker winch. I'm not sure but I think the pump puts out 1250psi. I don't know if that's sufficient for their winches though.

I've always thought that pimping oil from a steering circuit for any added function was a bad idea; a potential safety risk. But it's your tractor & your butt (hopefully).

According to mile marker winches, taping into the power steering circuit is a great place to get winch hydraulics. In my case it may be the easiest.

The P/S system is the only hydraulics available on the majority of vehicles that MM winches are installed on, therefore MM says it is a great place to tap into.

If your mind is made up, nothing else matters. Compare the pressure and flow demands of the MM winch to the steering and main hydraulic system specs of the 4500. Tap the system that meets the demands.
