Ford 4500 oil leak....fix?

Hey I have a ford 4500 backhoe/loader and under the case dead center dead middle there is a square plate w 4 bolts and I have a steady drip I think it's hydro fluid....I was wondering if that is just an inspection plate or is a **** ton of fluid going to come out if I remove the plate ....this is a torque conv 4 Spd trans and I have only had it for less than a year and do not kno anything about it... Any help? Thx

A picture or so would help to clarify your question. You are indicating that the leak is from a plate located in the center of the underside of the transmission housing. If so, you should plan to collect the transmission oil. Don't know the capacity of that trans.
