Perfectly good Ford 445 D laid up for unrelated item now refused to start. Fuel to the injector pump but nothing on the output side?
We have checked the shut off valve = working as it should. and fuel to the bolt in the yellow circle but no fuel output? Please- any input is appreciated

You checked the solenoid for operation, how? By energizing and listening to it click? Did you take it out and check the plunger?
If you remove the plunger, then try to bleed the injectors and they bleed, then the shutoff is faulty.

He energized the solenoid on the bench and watched the plunger go in and out. What should we do next?
Thank you for your help

You can remove the plunger, then try to bleed the injectors and if they bleed.

By remove the plunger do you mean take the plunder out of the solenoid ?
Sorry to ask so many questions the old man is actually the mechanic but he doesn't have computer access.
I told him I could ask online and try to get some help. Thank you

Yes, remove the plunger, screw the solenoid back in and try bleeding.

Got it - will try that.
The old man thought fuel to the yellow circled bolt meant the solenoid was open?

Also just from me - what prevents the tractor from starting while not having the cut off intact?

As long as you have the injector lines loose, the injectors will not get fuel and the tractor won’t start.

How long has tractor sat? Did you flush with new fuel?

You may have take apart and clean gummed up plungers and ports or take to injection shop.

Hey that's great - hopefully we don't have to go that route but he might.
The machine has been parked for a year, started occasionally until the recent failure.

Check for a stuck metering valve.. (utube)
If the mv is free, u probably have stuck pumping plungers. (Inside the pump)
