Ford 4400 tranny

I've heard of a 4x4 manual reverser, never saw one. All my notes skip the G designation and they don't list the 7 speed either.

no confisusion of anymore frustration than there already is.

I was actually thinking along the same lines as you when it comes to posibally being a combination of more than one tranny.

But if it had not been for this thread, I would have never foung anything else out about it.

It is puzzling though about there being no reference to trans code G anywhere in your 1968 manual.

As I mentioned, we also have an older manual that came with the 4500. I think it covers the 3400,3500,4400,and 4500. And a previous owner had highlighted and crossed off different sections in the manual. And it was puzzling that the 6x4 tranny was highlighted:confused2: And in that manual, their was also no mention whatsoever of a 4x4 manual reverser either. Just the power reverser.:confused2:
