Ford 4000 SU parts book anyone?

Hello all,

I am trying to identify some parts on a Ford 4000 SU and was wondering if anyone has access to a PDF parts book. I've tried the Ford/New Holland site and cannot find that model listed I also called them and they could not find it either!

I cannot read the tractor number on the tag, but the model number is D1414C. The closest I can estimate for the year is 1968 - 1975, three cylinder diesel, 8 speed trans, light duty front end and steering, non louvered tins, internal wet brakes, power steering fluid reservoir mounted on pump.

It would help to know what parts you need.
A 4000 SU is basically a 4000 engine, transmission and rear end with a 3000 front axle and steering system.
So when searching for parts type in those model numbers depending on what you need.
Those are Very good tractors.
Lots of power in a short, low package. With that girlie 3000 front end not the best for loader work tho.

Interesting.
I know those tractors pretty well but that's a question I can't definitively answer.
New Holland does list the 4600SU which is identical to a 4000SU except for upgrades to the hydraulic and electrical systems.
For those they say the SU model uses the smaller tank like is on the 2600/3600 models.
26/3600 are identical to the older 2000/3000 models except again, upgraded hyd/elec systems.

Thanks again for the info. I called F/ NH the other day and they had no idea. Referred me to a local dealer. Local dealer had no idea, said " they all use the same tank!"

I'm hoping that someone will have access to an original parts book from a 4000 SU.

I ended up taking a chance and ordering the tank listed for a Ford 3000 (Part No: C5NN9002AC) and turns out it fit perfectly. This is for a 1973 model year. And remember it needs a vented cap!

AP and SU style Ford’s under discussion do use different tanks. The bottom of the tank is shaped differently. Sparex is the only source I know for the larger tank original or AP 4000 series tractors.
