Ford 4000 kill switch?

I bought a ford 4000 3 cyl with a CAV pump. Tractor runs great has quite a bit of fuel leaks leaks from pump shut off and also have a few lines leaking. The tractor will sit for a day with the kill switch out crank right up the next morning if you leave it pushed it it'll take forever to start. Is it loosing prime maybe? The guy told me the trick when I bought it he said it took him a year to find out

The kill switch cuts the fuel flow, so if it starts with the kill out, it sounds to me like its getting too much fuel (if it were a gas mill, I'd say it's flooding, but I don't know if diesels use the same terminology). Leaky injectors, maybe?

I have no clue either ill call the ford place may be injectors they may not no be holding fuel but if you pull the kill switch out and leave next time you crank it it cranks fine now if your and off of it you don't have to leave it out it'll crank right back up

G'day fix the leak on the top cover of your pump and I would say you will fix your prob. The shutoff being pulled is prob slowing down the leak which is putting air in the fuel system. It is not a bad job to do if you have some mech skills. If you do a search on here for cav throttle shaft leaking you will find a good thread.
