3-Point Hitch Ford 4000 3-Point Lift Capacity and Planter

Hello All.

I am new to the site, and far from being a farmer.

I have a 1963 Ford 4000. I am looking to purchase a 2 or 3 row planter, i have been looking at refurbished JD 71 Flex Planters and JD 7100 planters for food plots and the garden. I will be planting 3-6 acres a year.

Any idea on what my lift capacity is?
Will my tractor lift a 3 row 7100?
Anyone have opinions on the 71 vs the 7100?

I don't know anything about the planters that you mentioned but your tractor's lift capacity should be about the same as my 861 which is around 1250lbs.

yep.. that's be a safe bet for a lift in decent condition.

same lift cover kit fits all the 00/01/000 tractors from 55-64 thus same lift ring and piston. 8xx and 4xxx 4 cyl are the heavy rears too..
