I recently purchased a ford 3610 and through reading other forums I thought I found the location of the hydraulic fluid check plug near back of the right foot rest. After two weeks of looking at it I talked myself into removing it to check the fluid level. There is a hydraulic line coming out of the side of the casing above a flat head screw I thought was the plug. After removing this screw I realized it wasn't the plug and now I'm unable to get it to thread back in.

Can someone please tell me what this screw is and any suggestions on getting it back in? I'll try to post pictures.
By the way I found the plug above the screw and below the line I mentioned. In was hidden by some grime. (The tractor has been sitting in a field for 14 or so years)
Thanks in advance

Well I stopped by the dealer and the mechanic was not sure what that screw does and he was not able to find anything about it in the service manual. Only suggestion he had was that I may have to remove the top plate to get to the nut on the inside.

Roy, the screw holds a tube in the rear axle and yes the top cover has to be removed, but you may be able to remove an access cover on the LH side to reach through and reposition. Worth a try. The square nead pipe plug below that screw is the check plug for the oil level.
If you do end up removing the top cover, after removing the bolts that secure the cover to the rear end, screw a long bolt into the RH front corner of the cover. Lift the over slowly, check the small tube that will try and come out with the cover and push it back into the rearend case. Then remove the bolt and remove the cover.
Otherwise, if you let the tube come out with the cover, it will bend.
I tried to attach a picture, but it wouldn't let me.

Did you ever get the screw back in? I have done the same thing

It holds the suction tube onto the case. As I said in the previous post, you may be able to take the inspection plate off of the opposite side and hold it in place while someone screws the screw back in to the bracket
