@$#&* ford 3600 transmission cooler

As I fix one thing another breaks. Lol. I laugh only because I want to cry. Ha!

So got valve cover gasket replaced. Went and started the old ford and no more top end leaks. Great! Well then fluid starts pouring out the front end. Ugh now what? Take trill cover off and first there is a nest on top of the air cleaner box. Then found the leak. The transmission cooler has a break in the weld or something in the top loop. So it just spits fluid. A lot of fluid. So. The tractor is down until that is fixed.

So the question I plan to replace the cooler eventually but for now is there any harm is looping the hard lines and bypassing the cooler? I assume I can take some 1/2 rubber line and loop the hard lines before they enter the front.

Thoughts?

I agree with RickB; just loop a piece of hose from one tube to the other.
But do fix it right when you can.

followup question.. looking at the part diagram: New Holland (36) - 3 CYL AG TRACTOR ALL PURPOSE (1/75-12/81) Parts Diagrams

The smaller box is for a 5600,6600 and 7600 tractor? That is the model of cooler that i have and not the large one.

Check with an Auto parts store and see if they can match you up with a aux cooler for and automatic transmission.

Good thought but i suspect the costs for the replacement and one for a car will be about the same. A replacement is only $150 with shipping. I've, unfortunately, spent more on less.
