Good afternoon. I'm wanting to get a hydraulic top link from Agrisupply for my 79 Ford 3600. Supposedly the remotes are factory. When calling dealers in my area, I get two answers to what size the male fittings for the hose are: 3/4 and 5/8. I found OEM part number D5NNB964A online. Is this the right fitting, assuming the remotes on my tractor are factory, and are they 3/4 or 5/8? The top link I'm buying has 3/4 inlets, so if the fittings are indeed 5/8 what size hose should I get? I only see 3/4 and 1/2 options there. It would be a long haul to take my tractor to a New Holland dealer to have hoses made up. Is that my best option?

If your 3600 with a factory remote valve has the standard original equipment hoses and female couplers, you need male coupling tips meeting the ISO standard in 1/2 size. If the person selling you the hydraulic top link doesn’t understand what ISO male hydraulic tips (male couplings)are, find another retailer. 3/8 hydraulic hose is plenty big enough.

the way i find out about threads that i dont know i unscrew the fittings from the tractor that i need to connect to the new hoses and take them to napa and tell them that i need hoses to connect from here to this cylinder here. they have lots of fittings and hoses to chose from and can make it fit. when you get back home all you have to do is screw the fittings back into the tractor that you took with you and plug your new hose into the coupler and you are ready to go. everything fits.
