I have a Ford 3600 diesel that I have owned for 7 years. A little more info is, it has the Hydraulic filter on the top of the hydraulic pump. It has the auxiliary hydraulic lines under the seat, as well as the draft control lever beside the lift lever. I changed the Hydraulic fluid about a year ago while replacing a leaking PTO seal. The hydraulic fluid removed looked pretty clean in my drain pan. I used Travelers Tans/Hyd Premium fluid from Tractor Supply for the re-fill.
My first problem is this: While recently bush hogging my lift stopped working. I disconnected from the bush hog, capped off the fluid and started working the levers. I finally got it to lift up, but only by pulling both the lift lever and the draft control lever all the way to the top at the same time, however if I place my foot on the lift while it is going up, it stops by just applying a "little" weight on it. My next step will be to change the filter but with draining what looked to be clean fluid and refilling with new fluid last year I don't have a lot of hope that will be the fix.
My second problem which doesn't happen often and I consider minor to the lift problem is, I will be riding alone bush hogging and the tractor will start revving up higher and higher. Moving the Throttle lever all the way up or all the way down will have no effect on it. I have to kill the engine and then start it back up. This first happened maybe a year or year-and-a-half ago.
As stated in my introduction I do my own repairs but wouldn't want to pull and rebuild the Top Lid if it's something simple to fix or something else. Any insight on either of these issues would be greatly appreciated
