some help please a friend has a 3500 ford industrial tractor what is the difference between it and 3600 farm tractor dose the 3500 have 3 point hitch and draft control pto explane the difference i know nothing about industrial tractors except that they are yellow he has offered to sell it to me i want to know if i can use it to farm with thanks

Look for a number on the flat of the bellhousing just behind the starter. It should have six digits. If the fifth from the left is not a "3," you won't want it for ag use. A 3 means live pto. The code would be something like C1023C. This link shows all the detail for interpreting the code:

The front axle on the industrial tractors is very low to the ground and would not make it very good for row crop work. They're fine for cutting, ground engagement work, loader work IF they have live pto/draft control. It wouldn't be cost effective to try to convert one for this purpose.
