Kubota L48 TLB, Ford 1920 FEL, 8N Ford, Gravely 12 HP "Professional", 48" SCAG Liberty
I have a Ford 3400 TLB, and would like to know the weight of the hoe itself.
From Tractordata.com I get a weight for the bare tractor of 3723 lbs.
They also give a weight of 1431 lbs. for the loader, but I cannot find a weight ANYWHERE for the hoe with subframe, and stabilizers.
The hoe is a model 750, which is a 10' Ford hoe with bucket, subframe, and stabilizers.
The hoe is a VERY heavy/solid/sturdy attachment. The 3400 tractor is a 1970 model, and the hoe is 1973. The entire machine has 1840 hours, and is in excellent condition. I have had it for 25 years, and LOVE it!
I guess the hoe weight to be almost 3000 lbs., but I really do not know!

I would guess you're pretty close on weight. I was thinking around 8500 lb. for the whole rig or 2500 for the hoe. I will look at an old sales book tomorrow and see if it shows the 10' backhoe 'option' weight.

I looked in my archives, but did not have the 750 literature. I did have the Dearborn F9 literature which is pretty much the predecessor to the 750-10' and the weight on that as an attachment was 3,000 lb.

TractorTech:
Thank you for your hoe weight estimate (same as mine).
I know my 20ft. 14,000 GVW trailer will take the total unit weight (can carry 10,600 lbs).
If the tractor is 3723 lbs., the loader is 1431lbs., and the hoe is 3000 lbs, that totals to 8154 lbs.
I may need to tow about 500 miles round trip, and do not want to frighten myself.
Another concern will be if I can balance the load properly, with 1000-1200lbs. on the equalizer hitch.
I could also take both buckets off, as I will be towing to and from a repair/paint shop, and the buckets do not need anything.
I could spray them at home.
I will be towing with an 8600# Suburban with a 454-V8, so it may not be great (9 mpg.), but it should be safe.

The Suburban can probably tow the weight but, can it stop it? To me, that is the more important issue.

We have a 2002 suburban with a 350-v8 motor. I would never hook that much weight behind it. Our camper that weighs 2,700 pounds empty and maybe 3,500 full of stuff is about all it wants.

I just hauled my Ford 1920 FEL with another bucket (from my Ford 3400), a Troy Bilt tiller, a Hotsy pressure washer - both on pallets, some lengths of angle iron, 13 lobster traps, and 5 five gallon pails of hydraulic fluid. My total estimated weight (including the trailer) was 9700. The trailer GVW is 14,000", though with the 3400TLB I will be 2500 lbs. below that limit, at 11,500 GVW.
This is a 2015 "Quality Steel" 14,000 GVW trailer with 2- 7000# electric brake axles, and 4- 235/80R16 wheels/tires. The 454 V-8 did a fine job. I do not need to climb any mountains. I set the electric trailer brakes to engage early in the pedal travel, and stopping has not been any problem. I do not tailgate (as most drivers do) !!!
If I took both buckets off, the difference would drop to only about 1000 lbs more than with the Ford 1920 load.
If a 350 V-8 cannot pull more than 3500 lbs. it must be much less capable than I thought. I guess the extra 104 cu.in. of the 454 V-8 makes a BIGGER difference than I thought!
My son has a 2014 F-150 with "EcoBoost" that is rated for towing 11,000 lbs. My 2500 4x4 Suburban with the 454-V-8 has more guts by far than the EcoBoost, and the F-150 is only a 1/2 ton pickup as well!

The 350 could pull more on flat ground, but we did climb mountains. We were over 11,000 feet at the highest. It is stopping that is the problem. The even bigger problem was the tail wagging the dog. Out in the flat land states the wind is horrible. The 454 is a plenty capable motor, but the 1/2 ton tow vehicle is inadequate.

TractorTech:
I just found and bought on E-Bay a Ford 750 hoe service manual.
I am certain that will have the weights for the three 750 hoe series models. 750 (10'), 753 (13'), and 755 (15')

4570:
I do agree that a "1/2 ton vehicle is inadequate"
But .....a 2500 series Suburban is NOT a "1/2 ton tow vehicle"!
A 2500 series is an 8600 lb. 3/4 ton 4x4
My son's 2014 F-150 IS a 1/2 ton vehicle, and IS rated to tow 11,000 lbs.
I DO NOT tow with my son's 2014 F-150 however.
I offered that F-150 information ONLY as a tow rating/capability comparison.
As above: "I set the electric brakes to engage early in the pedal travel, and stopping has not been any problem".
"I do not tailgate (as most drivers do)"
