I am planning on doing some preventative maintenance on my Ford tractors. I have seen answers all over the place on the best coolant to use to prevent cavitation. Is the coolant sold by New Holland the best, or is the long life antifreeze sold everywhere have the same additives and is it just as good? If it matters I have a Diesel 2000, gas 4000 and a diesel 8000.

It's probably not a bad idea as most all modern coolants contain those additives. In the For What It's Worth department, those models were never known to exhibit cavitational erosion which mostly happened on high horsepower models. The consequence was cylinder wall failure on the thrust side of the cylinder. It was more of an issue on parent bore blocks vs sleeved blocks.

I run regular 50/50 coolant, but add New Holland coolant conditioner as recommended.
