Just removed all pistons from this tractor and not sure if it has sleeves or not.
Cylinder sizes are:
#1. 3.136
#2. 3.140
#3. 3.144
#4. 3.142
Showing a couple of pictures along with measurements, looks like a lip bu do not want to start banging away if no need.

They have a sleeve removal tool for doing it and there are a few videos on YouTube showing how to do it plus sleeve installation. My neighbor did his 9n and I believe the 2n is the same.

The old N's used thin wall sleeves and they are easy to peal out with an old screwdriver, no need for a special tool. To install new ones the easy way is to freeze them and keep them frozen until you are ready to install, I keep them in a cooler with dry ice on installation day. Be sure to clean the block to remove ALL rust and debris. When you go to put them in do it FAST and push it home immediately so it will all the way down cause it is a $*%& if they don't go all the way down.

well, just turned the block upside down to check the size of the sleeve and I am not seeing any lip whatsoever that there is a sleeve in this block. Should I have the machinest check if there are sleeves in this block and if not should I have the cylinders bored for sleeves?

20 years ago I bought a 1939 9N and a 1948 8N that had been sitting outside for years. ($1700.)
I got both of them running and working.
I don't remember which one, BUT, a cylinder was full of rust and with the engine apart when I turned the crank the piston and liner both came out!
I would try sanding the lip clean and try to find the edge of the liner.
Maybe put some thinner/brake clean/acetone to make it show up.
I put new liners one by one from the freezer and put a light bulb in cylinder to heat it up.
I still needed a piece of 2 X on top to knock them all the way in.

The OEM sleeves are steel and only .040 thick. Now having said that some old timers would remove the sleeves and run Mercury V8 pistons in the bare block to gain some HP. The gain was more mental then actual IMHO. The standard bore is 3.188 so my guess is that rust or dirt was making your measurements be off a bit considering the measurements you give are under the standard bore but close enough to say it probably has sleeves in it. Just remember they are THIN .040. and hard to see.

Now with all that said there is the possibility at some point in its life the block was replaced with an industrial block or one from an early truck/van (40-41) that used the same engine block, some few of the industrial and none of the truck blocks used sleeves. Don't see many of either, rare birds to say the least.
