Good Morning,

I have had a steady leak of antifreeze that seems to find its way to the engine block plug and then drips form there. I am not sure what is wrong. Attached is a picture that I think is the casue of the leak. Would like any input on what you think I should look at or do? I have the valve on off for the picture. There are two on positions as well, one at the noon position and the other at 9. I’m not sure why two on positions.

I have low experience with diesels and want to learn.

Tim

Not sure on your ford, but that to me appears to be a fuel filter and its shut off. It is very similar to the one on my tractor.

That is indeed the fuel filter and fuel shutoff valve. Are you SURE it's antifreeze you're losing? You may stop your leak by tightening the clear sediment bowl on your fuel filter. There is a rubber or neoprene gasket against which the bowl seals, too. If it really is an antifreeze leak put a bit of talcum powder around that freeze plug in the block. That will show from where it's seeping.
