no inherant problems.

the sos trans gets a lil attention.. but by 73 it should be bullet proof if maintained.

4spds are basic machines. etc.

the 3 cyl is a good engine.

i prefer diesel due to the location of the gassers fuel pump and distribuitor. but both are good machines.. the oe gasser holley carb is finicky in the rebuild you use.. but sips fuel.. if you don't like carb fiddlin.. a 400$ zenith bolt on repalcement will drink fuel.. but pretty much run with 0 issues..

Thanks Soundguy.
Ran the Ford 2000 today, cutting a small field around the livestock pond. Seems to start right up. There is a small leak coming from the hydrolic pump gasket but after running it for an hour, the leak was minimal. The PTO and lift worked like it should. So all in all I think I am pretty satisfied with the purchase. I had read in this forum about one party having trouble keeping his diesel running, so I had some concerns but I think maybe I have one that likes to start and run. Thanks again for your comments.

IMHO.. diesels are the most reliable...

3 cyls in general are reliable..
