Hi All,
I have a '84 Ford 1910 that had the OEM mechanical voltage regulator that was putting out just a little over 17 volts to the battery. I have no idea how long it had been doing that but thought it would eventually fry the battery so I replaced it. I ordered a mechanical one but got a solid state unit instead. I waited too long to send it back so I'm stuck with it. It is not charging the battery. I've read posts about this before but I can't remember where but the guys who posted about it said they had to reroute some of the wiring. The manufacturer of this unit show the hook up exactly like OEM. Does anyone know what I should do to make this work? All I get is the battery light with the key in the run position but no charge voltage to the battery.
Thanks in advance for any advice someone can offer,
Richard
