Alright Jimmysisson. I read your response again about a faulty cable and thought I'd give it a try another way. First I cleaned up my jumper cables to make sure there was zero corrosion anywhere. Then I completely disconnected both cables from the battery and the starter. Used the jumper cables and went from battery ground to the bolt that mounts the starter to the block. Then from the hot to the solenoid. Click Click. Fingers crossed. Touched the power terminal and solenoid at the same time...... voila. Could have trouble shot a little further to see which cable was the actual problem, but I had cables to replace both so I figured why not. I'm back in business.

What threw me, and still has me puzzled is that when testing, voltage was good everywhere, and so was continuity. Oh well.

Thanks everyone for the help. I appreciate it very much.

Voltage can be good at rest when you've got high resistance through the wire but nothing sinking the current, V=IR and all that.

The real test would be to check voltage when cranking it over, however usually that's not feasible. Usually easier just to replace the wire.
