I've run my 1900 out of fuel a couple of times in the 10 years I've owned it. And it's a real PIA to get going again cause these things do not like air in the system. I'd bet like others have mentioned you are drawing air in somewhere. And I would suspect a stripped bleeding screw on top of the fuel filter asm (which is $300 to replace). Mine is messed up and I've just sealed a bolt into position there and if I need to bleed it I'll take the line off first !
