Hello All:

I recently installed a used Ford 7108 loaded on my Ford 1720. This thing worked great until I used it for 2 or 3 hours. It gradually became unable to lift the front tires off the ground. After I let the tractor sit for a day, the power would resume for a short time and then fade off. It now will not lift the tires up at all. I have checked the fluid level and it appears fine. The fluid looks very clean. The loader can pick up just about anything and has enough power to make the rear end come off the ground.

What should I look for.

Thanks

My 7108 doesn't have a ton of down pressure either. It take a bit for it to lift the fronts off the ground. Downward curl usually initiates the lift, being that they have more leverage. My mains won't lift it all that well. I think it's a 7108 thing honestly. It's not much of a concern for me, as the only time I lift the front is to clean the undercarriage.

My 7308 isn't much better. I have to drive my bucket curled down so I can drive it forward as I put pressure on the hydraulics. That is the only way I can get it up even having the rpm up.

My 7108 will lift the front off the ground if I have the bottom of the bucket vertical ish to the ground (rolled out a good bit). If you have the bucket rolled all the way in (back) and push down on the ground I think the rams bottom out before the loader can lift the front. That aside it sounds like you have a blowby issue somewhere. The oil thins as it warms up and blows by enough to not give you the power you want. Look at spool valve, pressure relief valves (main on tractor and the one on the FEL control spools) and leaking ram seal?

Kind of a dumb question, where on the FEL spool is the pressure relief?

Looks like you have a spin on type filter for the hydraulics which must be nice. I assume you've changed that? Just a thought, Toukow
