Ford 1720 Repair Manual Question

Good day all,

Quick question. I ordered a service manual off good ol Ebay. The one I ordered has a copy right date of 1989 and has printed on the inside cover tractors up to 1988 year model. My tractor is a 1995 1720 and if I'm not mistaken they had a wiring harness change in 92? Question is will this manual be fine or do I need to do some digging to find one for a 95 later models?

If it was me, I'd get the correct year manual especially since you know or suspect there was a wiring change.

That's a nice size tractor and has features a brand new tractor would be hard put to beat.
Nice engine, transmission, good weight, heavy 3pt with draft control....4wd & power steering. Nice old style construction.

Tractors are manufactured in batches and then sold over a period of years. It's entirely possible that a tractor could sit on the dealer's lot or in warehouse storage for years and yet it would still be the new year when sold. Even though it might have been manufactured a decade before. So it is difficult to be sure just knowing the year sold. That's why with tractors the parts and changes go by serial number instead.
I'm betting that your service manual also has a list of serial numbers covered.

I have a 1994, 1720, by serial number and have been trying to find a genuine service manual with a detailed wiring diagram and parts diagrams for the various harnesses and associated relays and switches. No luck so far and the local New Holland dealer claims they don't have those resources available either. It seems the ignition harness no longer is made and my tractor has a number of systems that have been bypassed or disconnected so I've got a big job, not the least of which is to recreate the glow plug circuit. Can anybody help or point me to a good resource? Thanks, much.

Were you able to locate a source for the needed service manual? I´d also like to locate one for my ´89 Ford 1720 with FEL. Any guidance is helpful.
