Ford 1715
Just bought Ford 1715,,4wd,,the tires a very worn,,it has 9.50-24 rears and 6-14 fronts,,i have access to a set of 11.2x24 rears,,,just wondering if this will mess up the 4 wh dr,,looked at tractor data and it sez the recommended tire for this tractor is 11.2x24 rears and 5.50x16 for the fronts,,any thoughts,,i wonder if I need to change the tires to 16's on the front,,Ill have to find a set of rims,,thanks in advance

If you change the size of the rears, you'll have to go to the corresponding size for the fronts that Ford originally used .

I'm going through similar problems, here's what I found. If it's 4wd the front tires should be 7-14 or 6-14 and the rear 11.2-24 or 9.50-24. It goes by the height of the tires not the size of the wheel. Mine now are 12.4-24 ( wrong) and they measure 45.6" as the 11.2-24 measures 43.4" the latter being the correct ratio.I found metal parts after taking the front end apart to replace a seal. If the wrong size tires/ratio from front to back rotation is off it can tear the front end out quick! The confusion is that the 1715 is a 2wd standard and that's where it calls for the 16" tire. 4wd tractor is optional and calls for a 7-14" or 6.14 front and 11.2-24 or 9.5-24 rear.
Hope this helps. Chet
