Loader Ford 1700 questions on hydraulic fluid level and loader cylinders

/ Ford 1700 questions on hydraulic fluid level and loader cylinders #11
Thanks again for all the information on hydraulics. I don't have a FEL for this 1700 yet, but that's a good point on extra capacity. It did come with a Ford 201 snow plow which has a small lift cylinder. I plan on selling the 201 when I find a 770 but since it's tied into the system now, I'll leave it for now and calculate the extra volume.
On the motor end, I have a new head with valves installed, glow plugs, replaced a bent pushrod, had one injector rebuilt (bench test showed dribble, 2nd. inj. is new) and am still waiting on a shop manual bought off Ebay, so if anyone does have cylinder head torq. specs and tightening sequence, could you post them? I am very thankful for the information.
I tried everywhere to find the head gasket aftermarket without luck, so I've got to fork the $80 over to NH. After that I think I'm ready to put it back together.

Please look at the attached PDF file. They don't show the head bolt configuration for 1700 but they list out the toque between 111-114 ft-lbs. obviously you'd want to go crisscross and slowly tightening the head bolts to their final torque again in crisscross fashion.

Thanks for the pic on the dipstick. I'll work on fabbing one to replace mine.

I did take off the top and mine was not bent at the bottom. It got chewed up into fine pieces of metal that I carefully cleaned up from the bottom of the pan. I also had to remove and clean the hydraulic filter that was full of metal particles. It was ugly, but seems to have cleaned up nicely.

Now, the bigger issue is finding replacement cylinders for the 30 year old loader.
I'm thinking of taking this back to the hydraulic mechanic to see if he can find good replacements and can fab up the repairs. Not sure if I want to rely on my newbie welding skills on something that takes this kind of abuse.

Thanks again.

utf meeting M2C134D spec. Most places like farm stores and walmart napa/car quest carry some sort of UTF fluid meeting that spec.

good for final drives, front axles, diffy, hyds, transmission, gear and Hydro, power steering and seperate loader sumps.
