My 79 1700's loader is working very very slowly and only if I give it a little gas. So far I cleaned hydraulic filter and changed fluid, replaced the seals in the hydraulic pump and checked the relief valve on the 3pt.
The 3pt is working great right now. When I pull the 3pt all the way up and move the lever all the way to the position where it continually tries lifting the 3 pt, the 2 lines over to the loader valve pressurize (can see them move) and both the up and down control on the loader will send the bucket up fast (can't get it to go down). If I move the 3pt lever out of the continuous lift position the loader goes back to normal and is just super slow.
Took a pic of where the 2 hoses from the loader go to under the right side of the seat (when sitting). Haven't seen this on any of the other pictures posted for 1700 loader relieve valves. Is the plug on the right side of the pic the relief valve? Not sure if it's the shimmed or screw in/out type to adjust so didn't want to mess with it yet.
UPDATE:
The picture was the loader relief valve. Took it apart and it looked fine. Got the hydraulic gauge on the 3pt lift and it read ~1900 psi at PTO 540 speed. Loader didn't change after I put the relief valve back together. I noticed one of the lines to the loader valves is definately pressurized, I can feel it putting my hand on it.
Anyone know of a 1 lever loader valve I can replace my 2 handle one with? Thinking it may be worth just replacingj/upgrading it if I'm taking it apart.
