i have a ford 1700 series 2 wd. my clutch linkage rod has started vibrating in and out from the engine/tranny block. it moves about 3/8 of an inch either way. it does weather th clucth is engaged or not. the only time it stops is if the pedal is pushed ever so slightly. im sure this is a problem with the clutch and just want to know if anyone has run across this problem. i'm wondering if i will be able to acces it throught the plate where the gear shifters come through or will i have to split the tractor to even diagnose the problem. if so i will replace the clutch while im in there. any info would be appreciated.
