Loader Ford 1600: How to tap into hydraulics to add loader?

I have a Ford 1600, and have purchased a set of engineering specs to build a custom loader. I am having trouble identifiying where to tap into the hydraulics when I attach the loader. Judging by the NewHolland/Ford website exploded parts drawings, there may be some sort of adapter block that has to go onto the 3 point hydraulic control.

Anyone with a Ford 1600 with a loader that can tell me what I am missing, or describe where their 770 or other loader hydraulics terminate to the tractor's hydraulics? Many thanks!!!

You'll need to add an auxiliary hyd block just after main relief device. You'll have a supply and return path for the hyd oil to use for your loader.

Last time I checked, the local NH dealership had the part. About $600, IIRC.

Just a thought, but according to the tractordata page for that model, it only weighs about 3000# and has a total hyd. fluid capacity of only 2.6 gallons and flow rate of about 4gpm. You will not be able to lift much with a loader on that tractor, and will likely need additional fluid capacity. You might want to look into a loader with a "pony" pump that runs off the pto. Or, my best advice is to get another tractor that would be better suited for a loader.

The other thing you need to consider is power steering. With the loader bucket full they are verry hard to steer. You wont be able to turn the steering wheel if you are not moving. Also don't build the loader big enough to over load the front axle or spindle or wheel failure will occur. The hydraulics on your tractor will be strong but slow.

I just installed a ford 771 loader on a ford 1600 over the weekend and I took a hydraulic adapter plate from a Ford 1900 (which is where the loader came from) and drilled a hole completely through the return port hole. Then I took the top plate and used 3/8" steel plate and aligned the holes up and machined the spots where the o-rings go. There is 4 of them. You cannot use the original top plate with the adapter since it will let the hydraulic fluid bypass the joystick control valve. The loader and the 3-point works just fine. I could send you pictures of the finished installation if you would like.
