My Ford 1520, 1989 vintage, had a catastrophic alternator problem solved with new belt, new alternator, other assorted bits and pieces. It appears that the alternator was original, and I have replaced it with an exact replacement part. The problem is that the plug on the back of the alternator has two wires going to it. The wires were held in a plastic module holding the two connectors. That plastic has disappeared leaving the two wires separated with no way to determine the orientation of their attachment. The connection point is shaped like a "T". Both wires are pale enough that I cannot give you any color code but one does have a dark tracer, the other does not have a tracer. I have been unable to access a wiring diagram that might help me. Can anyone tell me if the tracer wire goes to the top of the "T" or to the vertical portion? The one wiring diagram that shows a bit of this area also lists diodes and such that flipping a coin to determine which goes where isn't very attractive. Thank you in advance for your help.
