HELP!!!!
~My Ford 1510 tractor will run for 10 minutes at full RPM and then it suddenly shuts down and cannot be started till next day.
We drained the tank, blew out the lines from the tank to injectors, replaced hose from tank to fuel pump, replaced fuel filter, injectors and bled the system.
Also, there is no switch in the seat-
This is truly driving me nuts and I need expert advice please!
Thanks so much everyone:)

Sounds like a fuel restriction. How's the sediment bowl and filter look? May need a new filter.
:welcome: to the forum, BTW.

Make sure the cap on the fuel tank is venting freely. You might have a vacuum lock. Your fuel tank is atmospherically vented. Just to prove the theory open up the cap when it dies and try to start the tractor again. Waiting a day might be enough to equalize tank pressure to atmospheric after all cools down.

JC,

That is possible as well. Especially if someone painted the fuel cap. Good tip.

JC,

Well, I worked the heck out of my little 1700 on the hunting place this year.....the place looks as though I brought in a construction crew on new roads, culverts & such. Even planted three large food plots. HERE's THE KICKER....

I had let it run out of diesel last summer but (luckily) didn't have to go through all the junk to bleed the fuel lines cuz it just started right up after re-fueling. The BAD thing is, I was getting a lot of firewood on the mountain and it started puttering then made it to the TOP where it died. It was low but not empty like the last time. Now, it will NOT start at all and it has ALWAYS started up GREAT (even during VERY cold weather). This happened a few days ago and my son and I even bled the line. It is not blocked from the bowl.

I know the JC-jetro will know what's going on. I hope I don't have a carburator problem due to junk finally getting to it. I did notice that the exhaust seemed a bit warm the day it died. I say this because it has always been cold to the touch. Just thought I'd throw that in but I still think it has something to do with the engine side of the line. What about it JC?!

This is a bit off topic but l am also looking for ONE front tire and ONE back tire (if not all four) if anyone knows where that can be found on the cheap. Since the tsunami, radiators and such have gone through the roof. Hope to always have this lil' tractor and parts cuz it is, by far, the BEST tractor I've ever had PERIOD! Again, what about it JC.

Hope all had a GRAND Christmas and New Year!!!

Red, Sorry , little bit of incommunicado on my part. You ain't go carburetor. Remember, diesels have fuel injector. Plugging of the fuel tank cap and not venting, problems with fuel line, filter and injector might be the issue. post back and we get to the bottom of it.

I Will be looking into the tractor and giving you a heads up when I can. So frustrated that I've let her sit. It has also been too cold and I have no need for her right now but come spring, I'll need her back.

I may send you some photos or something like I did last year or so cuz there is a shiny spot on the "carborator" bolt where a ground or something has broken away from it. I can't imagine why someone spot welded it to the bolt instead of simply bolting it down UNDER the bolt. Do you think that could simply be the problem.

Perhaps it broke loose while I was clearing some brush. As I've mentioned, it was being used when it fluttered out and the tank actually had a bit of fuel in it and not bone dry as I've let it go before. I was going up a mountain but actually made it to the top when it went out and WILL NOT start.....just turns and turns and turns.

If photos or video will help, I'll try and send that to the thread or in a another PM.

Did you ever get your tractor going? Didn't wish to intrude on your thread with similar problems but I saw no further questions or a note regarding some remedy to your problem. My question is why it would start the NEXT day. That is almost as odd as a KraZy chainsaw problem I ran into where it started up great, idled great and when I let it warm up, shut it down to sharpen the teeth, it would not (WILL NOT) even think about starting. Your scenario is even stranger to me because your tractor will, at least, start up the next day. For it to run 10 min. or so and then shut down again, I wonder if there is another issue more critical happening to where a sensor is detecting the problem and shutting down before major damage. JC-Jetro has really helped me out and if he's not going to mention any other problem, I certainly hope the advice given already has helped.
