Forced sale of your real estate

We better all hope were far enough way from development that a PRIVATE developer isn't eyeing our property. The Supreme Court decided today that if he can convince local officials, we can be forced to sell. This is incredible, especially considering what it takes to convince some public officials...

I never would have guessed we'd come to this.
I saw a 20/20 article on the family who brought the suit. Everyday common folk, who had a GREAT location on the waterfront. And now the city can take it all away and allow private deveopment on it. shame shame! I sure hope this does not hold up over the course of time.

Yeah, I saw this on another newsite. It was a 5/4 split vote again. The Supremes appeared to leave it up to the states to limit the practice and G'ment still has to pay FMV. But its a pretty bad decision. Determining FMV is often as clear as mud and some things are priceless to those who own the property.

Its an aweful decision and the Supremes have been making some bad ones lately.

Yep that is the way it goes. sadly.....If you own a farm just outside a growing city, your days are numbered.....Remember we don't really own property, it's just an annual lease from the govt.

what is going on,can't people see what all this is coming to.

people we are losing control,we have let the "leaders" of this country get away with to much and it's time that they start making decisions for the people not forsomebody or something that in some how is going to benfit themselves.

Do you guys think that all of these politicians would want the jobs they have if it wasn't for all the perks.

sorry about rambling but this I feel is something that is very serious,there is so more that our government should be worrying about, evidently none of the judges live or have family there,might be different if it was their home.

lets see senator you are going to get $15.00 an hour,and 10 holidays after the first year you will get 1 week vacation,a few other benefits,and you have to work for a full 30 years before you get a full retirement,oh, and your retirement will be just like every other persons $ 1,100 or 1,200 a month.

do you really think if this was to happen that all of these people would be running for office.

because it seems like the people in this country are getting messed over everyday,and theres nothing we can do about it.
