I remember when I was a kid we use to go to the little ponds on the golf courses in urban NJ and catch sunnys all day 60 - 80 on a slice of wonder bread and a salmon egg hook on a pos zebco 202 and a Berkley pole got from 2 guys for $8 . :cool2:That was the life not a care in the world just as long as we didn't eat all the bait when we got hungry.:D:drink:

I just skimmed through the video and enjoyed seeing them with so many fish. That's going to be one of those days that changes their lives!!! Thanks for sharing.

that reminds me of a fun story; a friend wanted to take his two boys fishing early spring at our lake side camp. He brought the bait, beer and ice. when we waked down, a neighbor was at the dock fishing. He was catching one crappy after another. The boys had worms on their hooks and of course were catching very few bluegill.

The boys assumed the neighbor was just in the right spot. so they started casting towards his spot. Just as we were going to put a stop to the boys, one of their casts ended up on his lap! He was very kind and smiled. He stood up and said he was done for the day and said they should switch to his minnow bait. "just leave the empty bait bucket at his house"

The boys caught crappy for a long time. The act of kindness was repaid a year later when he was back at the dock and it looked like he was have serious health issues. My friend quickly drove him up to his home to seek urgent care.

Flashback 60 years ago- lead sinkers came in a little tin with a sliding lid. Inside the lid was printed, "Take a boy fishing."
