I remember an old farmer talking about 'Grand Pricks' 12g shells which we all know as the motor race Grand Prix 'Gronn Pree', Pinoit Noir 'Pinnon-warr' and I have heard Shiraz pronounced as 'Shee Razz'.
I haven't been to the US for a few years now but I did note differences in East and West Coast language, I used to travel regularly to NY, Boston and Denver and even the difference between the first two was apparent.

Farfel, not one we know but when I saw it I thought of that middle eastern vegetarian dish Falafel.

All of the Nestle TV ads in America pronounce it ness-lee. So that's the way the company wants it pronounced here. How do they pronounce it in TV ads in other countries?

My brain struggles with the concept of learning a foreign to me language. I've heard several times that English is the hardest to learn.

I really enjoy learning new "Aussie" words though.
