I have an alternate. Once a week - I pick up plastic apple boxes of reject vegetables from a local grocery store. Put the veggies on the far end of the property. I'm providing an alternate food for the animals. I do not hunt them.

The deer certainly do not need added food. All around my property - thousands upon thousands of acres of wheat, barley, oats and peas. I'm on the NW corner of the Palouse. Know world wide for its wheat.
