Does anyone have or use a folding deck rotary mower (a/k/a tree cutter)?
I saw a power line clearing crew with a Brown 6' model, that with extra steel was $6000, but would handle a 8" hardwood tree.

Can' help but want to see the tractor that was pulling the cutter that would shread up a 8" hardwood tree...

Around here an 8" tree would take a bit of effort to push over...especially if several were clumped together...

Two of them were older NH 8610? and a newer TS 90 with enclosed cab, 4 wd, with duel R1 on rear, skid plates that were 3/8 thick and full roll cages and screens. Around the push bar was wraps of 5/8 cable to pull each other out. Also had a Hydro-Axe, which looks like a wheel loader but has a 9 ft rotary cutter in place of the bucket ( 12 " capacity) and a winch that is rated for 75,000 lb on the rear. The mower can be put 10 feet in the air. The mechanic said they order extra strong ( Rockwell #) blades for them.
More time is lapsing between cuttings so they need extra HD, equipment to handle 60-70 hrs a week in summer.
