Hello,
I want to remove a flywheel from a shaft. The shaft is from a wood chipper. I tried to remove it put its very stuck. I drilled the key in the keyway away and sprayed some oil in it but it doesnt make a difference. Someone thoughts how to do this?

thnks

(i also added some pics of the cutting mechanism)

Well, I dont have any. Maybe I could ask someone. Are there other ways to do this job?

What are the three things sticking out on the face? Are they bolts that are sheared off?
It looks like some kind of split bushing.
If you are not familiar with those they have bolts that tighten to clamp the bushing and pulley to the shaft.
Can you find a diagram on line with the parts break down so you can see the pieces?

That looks like it could be a taper lock bushing. Were there bolts in all 3 holes or just 2.

If it was just 2 to pull the bushing into the hub the 3rd hole may be to install a bolt and push the hub off of the bushing.

google "taper lock" the second hit is a pdf from gates. It will show you what I am talking about.

As others have mentioned, and a little heat with a rose bud if you have one.

Well, i tried the thing with the 3th bolt but a piece broke off, so thats not an option anymore. Should it work with a puller?

I read that using pullers on the outside of the flywheel could hurt. Is that also for such a thick flywheel?

If it is a locking bushing a puller will only make it tighter!
What are the three things on the face?
With a locking bushing two bolt holes across from each other tighten. The single hole you put a bolt in, tighten it and it separates them.
