Re: Flywheel removal - tricks & tips? - Success!
I figured you guys would get me thinking. Woke up last night and remembered I had an old clutch pressure plate in the parts pile. It is good to own a welder. Took a little piece of 1/4" plate, drilled a hole and welded on a nut. Then tacked the plate to the back of the pressure plate. Mounted the plate and tightened the bolt. Heard a groan and it got really tight. Used a long pry bar to give it a nudge and "pop"! Took maybe 5 minutes with the puller. Did take me a couple hours to dig out the welder, cut, drill and do the welding.
Made the bolt small enough so it will work on flywheels with the pilot bushing installed. Thanks again for the suggestions.
