I accepted delivery of my JD 990 several weeks ago and just noticed that a small amount of fluid is seeping out of the rear tire rims. Is that possible and what is causing it?

Thanks,

Steve

It is possible, chances are the rim is not seated well. Be careful with that fluid until you know what it is, some of the things used in tires can be poisonous. Keep the pets away! Call the dealer. If it is not fixed, eventually you are likely to have a flat tire.

If you have tubes, It could just be pushing trapped water out between the tire and tube. In this case it won't leak down. If it don't have a tube the rim probably has some dirt or trash on it which needs to be cleaned. I assume the tires are loaded. Your dealer should fix that problem for you under warranty.

When my tires were loaded on the 2210, they broke the bead and filled them that way (no tube). When I got home and put the propper air pressure in... the Ballaststar was ozzing out of the bead. At 1st I figured the bead did not seat right but there is a tapered edge on the wheel and there is no way it could be on wrong. Those tires are on there tight, unlike a car tire.
Turns out that there was just extra fluid in the bead that was exiting on the outside of the wheel. No problem at all.
