This is so rediculous! There is actually a group out there that believes that the Earth is flat. This is my favorite part of their website:

The Society asserts that the Earth is flat and has five sides, that all places in the Universe named Springfield are merely links in higher-dimensional space to one place, and that all assertions are true in some sense, false in some sense, meaningless in some sense, true and false in some sense, true and meaningless in some sense, false and meaningless in some sense, and true false and meaningless in some sense.

^^^And the above is horse puckey in some sense.^^^

ROFL!!!

The above was part of their "About Us" section. Be sure to read it and the other crazy links!

Don't these folks just *have* to be the largest organization of trolls in the world?

Let's be careful who we ridicule, here. I was a charter member of the Flat Earth Society; at least, I would have been, if they had started the society back when I realized the Earth is flat. I do not believe the 5 corner theory, however, I'm certain the Earth is more like a giant pizza. Volcanoes, for example, are explained by the tomato sauce escaping from below the cheese.

In recent years, however, I have not had time to devote to the proof of a flat Earth. I have been too busy with my other project, which is ending all road repairs in the United States. I founded an organization which has been very successful. Near every single road construction site is one of our protest signs. They read, variously, "End Road Construction!" or "End Road Work!" It is our hope that all motorists reading these signs will join us in our campaign to put an end to road repair. I don't think we have missed putting up a protest sign at any road construction site - even at the temporary sites, we manage to put up a portable sign calling for the end of road work.

Once that campaign is successful perhaps I can get back to my efforts to once-and-for-all establish that the Earth is flat.

By the way, Disney World does not exist. Upon entering Orange County, Florida, the smell of orange blossoms overcomes all visitors with a hallucinagetic spell in which they imagine they are visiting something called Disney World. The purpose is to take their mind off the fact that just a few miles to the East, at Cape Canaveral, exists the movie sets that were used to film the phoney landing on the Moon.

I don't know about DisneyLand, but suffice to say, they grow oranges near there, also. Think about it.

So you see, you should be careful about what you say. There are things in this existence you know nothing about. If you think I'm kidding about any of this, just ask my kids. They're 34 and 32, now, and I've been patiently explaining all these things to them since they were infants. It's sad that they ignored me. Although, it may explain why my son is still single.

One may wonder, though -- just what were you looking for, that you found the Flat Earth Society web site?

Sorry. Didn't mean to offend anyone. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Anyway, someone else told me about the society and I wondered if there was actually people out there that held these views so I did a search to see what came up.

I'm with you on Ending Roadwork, 'cause around here in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area, it seems like it is Roadwork Neverending!! Where do I sign up?

/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I hope he was! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Anywho, it is funny that he mentioned road work. They are repaving the road outside the house. They started Wednesday. I hate waiting in "flagman traffic". They are doing an 8 mile stretch of road.
