It is just a reminder that a service is due. It will go away after a while by itself. The one on my JD mower flashed 1 hour before service was due and one hour after and then stopped.

I'll have to watch this - I don't think mine has EVER shut off (and the service has been done consistently - I'm at 208 hours now).

Why al this hysteria? The flashing icon is like a second hand on your watch, so you know that the clock is running.

My 4210 has flashed once the key is in the run position from new. As far as I know it is a reminder to you that the hour meter is "counting"
