Had other stuff to do too, but ended up spending most of the day greasing zerks, changing fluids, and replacing a roller bearing on the Caroni flail mower. I had to buy a bearing puller at Sears, $20 and it worked fine. I had lost parts from my old puller in the 10+ years since I last used it, so it was bound to be replaced. My nifty backhoe pallet contraption failed after working so well for 6 months :-(
I fired up the Caroni, began to mow the field at around 5:30, and after a while, with some noisy tire rubbing from a hitch arm, it appeared that I had broken the eyebolt on the 3 point hitch that the outer turnbuckle arm loops to. Since both loops are welded, I expect that they are a single replacement part. Oh well, two steps forward, one step back to the Kubota parts desk. Looks like another fixit day coming up.
Anyone else ever broken one of those eyebolts?
