Fixin' to Buy 70 HP MWFD W/ LOADER

Looking for 60-80 HP MFWD w/ FEL & Grapple for Mowing 20 acres, maintaining 30 acres of pine plantation and cleaning up 160 acres of woods, trail maintenance etc.

Been looking at JD 5083E, KUB M7040, MF 2660HD. MF seems to have the best deal on a cab tractor. I'm a little concerned about tearing up the cab in the woods, but the cab A/C sure makes life nice in East Texas.

I've driven the KUB and JD but not the MF. The specs in the MF brochure make it look pretty good. Any help would be appreciated. The resale on green would be better but the up front cost is quite a bit higher. My last tractor was a 1982 21 HP Allis Chalmers 5120 that worked great on a 15 acre place.

Daniel, welcome to TBN. Be sure and post photos when you buy that new tractor. Bigger tractors with cabs sure are nice and tempting, but they wouldn't last a day with me operating in my woods. I hope you are cautious and have much better luck than me. It would be a shame to tear up a nice cab, but with A/C and being comfortable, maybe you won't get sweat in your eyes and do something silly when you are half-blind. Good luck with your purchase and land cleanup progress.

Hi Daniel, I'm new here too, but noticed those numbers of yours, 5083E. There are 3 tractors as you know---in that E series. 5083, 5093, and 5101. I want a cab tractor real bad myself. When snow drifts cover my drive for 1500feet, I would enjoy a heater and comfort removing it. The 5093E is in my thoughts during the long nights lately, it makes a nice dream. But that 45 or so thousand dollar price tag has kept me under control till now. I may join you though, even this year and still order one. My last big toy of a lifetime probably. Good luck on yours.
