insalled my rear remote kit on lk3054 used permatex extreme pressure thread sealant for hydraulic fittings,(didnt have the loctite sealant.)this stuff has worked on all other fittings that i have used in the past except the ones on this remote valve kit. this valve is machined flat at the thread openings and i am begining to wonder if these fittings use o rings to seat on these flat machined surfaces.i have other fittings that look the same way and they use o rings. i may be wrong but seems funny they would machine this area when all you would need is a hole with threads.the sealer i used most certainly should have sealed this and it did not the oil came out like there wasnt any sealer on the threads. the kit did not have any o rings for these fiittings but had two for the piece that bolted to the tractor .if anyone knows if the fittings use o rings please let me know.if not i will have to take the whole thing apart and take to a hydraulic shop and see what they say. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gifthanks

I wouldn't take the whole thing apart. Can't say for sure by it sounds to me like O-rings should be there .
Try that first. O-rings are cheap so its definately worth a try.

I believe they do use O rings at the spot. You'll see in the schematic I sent that there are some O rings in another location, but they don't show the ones you need. Or I can't see them! John

yes i did get your schematic thanks a bunch. after looking at my loader valve where the couplers screw in it looks almost identical and it uses o rings. i am almost convinced this is what i need and will be making a trip to napa tomorrow to get the o rings and try them. if that doesnt work i will weld them in /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif :haha.just kidding. i am kind of disapointed about the leak because every thing went together so easy had the whole thing done in an hour with just the seat and access panel removed. (TIP) screw rod and locking nuts on to valve control before you mount valve because the rod is threaded and cant be turned once on the tractor, no room rod is a foot long and has several bends, feed handle up through fender guides then mount valve to tractor. i didnt do this, and yep had to take the valve out screw rod in reinstall valve to tractor /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif now i just need to get my leaks fixed /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif will keep you posted of my progress.

well after four days i finally have my rear remotes installed and so far no leaks. took the hole kit to my dealer yesterday, when the guy looked at it he said i need crush washers to seal the fittings. thread sealer wasnt going to work. for some reason kioti doesnt send these with the kit. we looked at another kit he had there and no washers in that one either. i find this very discusting that you pay $350.00 for a kit that doesnt come with a couple cent washers that are needed for the kit to even work. also the manifold piece that ties into the tractor hydraulics has the same fittings that needs 2 o rings becuase the manifold openings have a taper cut that will alow an o ring to seat ,they were not in the kits.the only o rings in the kits are the 2 small ones for the back of the manifold. hopefully kioti can fix this because the kit is well made and easy to install only to be hindered by a couple cent washers and o rings. buyer BUYER BEWARE if you order this kit to put on your self make sure you ask about the washers and o rings becase thread sealer will not work. or work long term. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thats odd. It must have been something that was left out by mistake on some kits. All the kits that we have ever installed have included everything that was needed to install them.

I would call KIOTI directly and tell them what you've posted here. I'm sure that they'll make good. Gerard

the place where i bought the kit is a small dealer that is 12 miles from me. i did not buy my tractor from him but from another big dealer that is 80 plus miles from me. the big dealer figured out my problem. when the small dealer called me back after checking with kioti about my problem he said they(kioti) checked to make sure they sent the right kit and confirmed they had. while waiting for the small dealer to get back to me i took the kit to the big dealer got every thing squared away even added a splitter valve and now have two sets of remotes. when i called the small dealer back to let him know of what i found out at the big dealer he was going to call kioti and let them know what is going on. the big dealer did make good on the washers i needed and even swapt me even up for two fittings he changed to add hoses to the splitter valve plumbed everything off of a tractor he had there made me a mounting bracket for the valve so i could bring the stuff home and mount it all to my tractor pre fit so he knew it all would work. now that is service /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif everything is good now and i dont blame anyone here other than this may be a packing mistake at kioti or where ever because two different dealers had kits lacking washers/orings just letting folks know to make sure the washers/orings are there so they dont get frustrated over something simple. hey it gave me an excuse to go play on some tractors. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Glad you figured it out. I was getting ready to tear mine apart again because the fittings drip and redo them with loctite 567. Wonder where I can get those washers?

Also, can you post some pictures of the splitter valve and where the extra outlets are? I'm interested in setting mine up with another set.

thx
Jim

Do these happen to look like the crush washers that you are talking about? they have the inside dia of a penny and the outside of a quarter.

are the washers an o ring type or similar to a washer on spark plugs?

good morning, the washers are copper ID-11/16 & OD 7/8 square cut and the thickness of a penny. they are a hair smaller than a penny & quarter they fit easily over the fitting and could even be a hair smaller but so far they are working. used my dump trailer yesterday a few times and nothing leaked on the valve so far so good. i am going to go get a digital camera today and try and get pictures.i got 2 extra washers just in case will try to post some pictures of them.
the o rings in the manifold just slide over the fitting and screw in snug. the reason they work here is because the manifold has a taper that lets the fitting and o ring seat without the oring being squished out. they will not work on the valve because it is machined flat and the orings just squish out. now you can get a different fitting that uses orings but has a retaining washer that fits over the oring to keep it from squishing out. but then u need to change to a flare type fitting because no one could find this type of fitting to match the compression type on the steel lines. hope i am not confuseing everyone, this is what i have learned in the past few days trying to fix the leak.( and i type slow)

When you reply, you'll see the tab for "browse". Click on it and a window from "Your Documents" should open up. From there you click on the thumbnail and it will automatically upload when you hit continue. I'm not great at explaining things like this but hope it helps you. Gerard

second pic shows the fittings that leaked, far left fitting you can see the copper washer. the middle fitting was changed to o ring you can see the brass washer that holds the o ring in. this fitting was changed to flared end so we could use more common hose fittings to adapt to the splitter valve.
