I had a set of 4 suitcase weights - originally they were green:D - but my Kubota would fit only three and the third one would not go all the way in anyway.
The 4th one was in my shop and always in the way and I just could not find any use for it. The plan was to eventually build a frame to bolt on the tractor that would fit all 4 weights, but last weekend I found better solution. All it took was some time with the drill press. Since it is cast iron, it was actually quite easy to drill, but I still had to resharpen the 1" bit for the bolt head hole several times.
The bolt head is rounded on the lathe and tapered on the bottom to fit the hole, I don't think I will ever take it apart.

That's the type of problem solving I like. I didn't know that drilling cast iron was relatively easy. My wife's parents were Slovak.

Hello there:) Slovakia is beautiful, btw, spent a lot of times backpacking Tatras.

Cast iron contains crystals of graphite and it helps with the lubing of the bit but mainly it is fragile and the shaving breaks effortlessly into small pieces. Unlike steel with those long spinning splinters.

But I have to admit, I didn't know what it was made from till I saw the first shaving.
