First use of the 4820! Tilling.

I've tilled the field 4x to get a nice seedbed from the turf that existed. Spent 10 hours and 12 gallons of diesel to do so. Cleaned the screen today and checked to make sure it came with both the inner and outer air filters, as I've seen some post their tractors did not. Yup, both are installed!

Tilled in the buckwheat today. Actually ran it in 540E and it worked the top couple inches very well.

I didnt get any today... Though I should have. Just rolled over 16 hours on it today. I'll probably get a few more before winter, probably just shy of 20 for the year.

Welcome aboard! I broadcast the seed with a large tow behind spreader and then cultipacked it in.

Planting/growing Buckwheat

I’m buying a tractor this spring, 40-45 PTO hp. We are planning to plant 2-3 acres of buckwheat and clover for the bees. (better forage than orchard grass). Anyone grown buckwheat? I plan to plant mid May… which means it should flower by mid June, mature around August 1 and I plan to lightly...

Well I tilled an acre last week using 540E, topped it off today, and it burned about 1.1gal/hr

Not bad!

Everything on the unit is working as advertised. The bolts were marked at the dealer, and they are all still snug.
